Anwesha

This night, I watched a beautiful performance at Padepokan Bagong Kusudiardjo. "Anwesha" by Maya Dance Theater LTD.

"Anwesha" is a dance performance. Tells a part from Ramayana story about Shinta who can't express her feeling because of her status. As a king's wife, Shinta has to obey all of the rule in the palace. She is silenced by the rules. This performance is a collaboration of seven persons from three countries : Indonesia (Bali dance), Malaysia, and Singapore. With simple lighting and simple stage, "Anwesha" still a lovely performance for me.
